Just thought I'd share something that was shared with me earlier this year in the thread below.

http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=53650.0

In that thread, I had mentioned that my build had a bit too much presence (BS170 mosfet) that was quite harsh even with the treble on my amp turned down.  This was at band practice volume levels.  I just couldn't use the pedal.  But, in that thread forum member billings had recommended changing the 10M resistor at the input to 1M or even 500k to bring the impedance down and attenuate the highs.

Well, I'm happy to report that the change to 1M did the trick.  It sounds really nice and smooth and it's no longer harsh.  I don't have to adjust a thing on my amp.  Great suggestion, billings and thanks.

Hopefully this helps out others that have come across this situation.

One man's ice pick is another man's shimmer. I was going back and forth about whether I liked the high impedance, so I stuck a switched 1M pot in. It switches the pot in parallel with the the 10M resistor. Nice flexible solution.

This wasn't even shimmer.  I like a nice shimmer but it was clearly icepick in my rig, and I use warm humbuckers in several of my guitars (SuperD in one, Air Zone in another).  The pot in parallel is a cool idea.

Guys,
Last night I completed this project i'm using 2n7000 replacement just reverse the drain and source the boost is ok and i'll try your suggection changing into 1meg but I'm having problem with millenium circuit which I normally incorporate in every project i'm doing first, it pop when I switch it on, 10meg is already a pull down resistor isn't it? or I do need to put another 1meg after INPUT before 0.001 CAP? Second is worse, when I switch it off the LED switch off but slowly getting glow until its bright like switch on but the effect is not engage.I checked all the millenium parts and replace already all the parts but still the same. Are you guys using 3pdt? Is someone encounter this problem? Do millenium circuits not compatible with AMZ booster?

Thanks,
Roger

I've never use the Millennium bypass circuit myself, always a 3PDT switch.  I don't have any popping problems.  Then again, I leave it on all the time anyway.

You might want to start a new thread for your issue.  From the looks of it, your problem is related to something else.

You need a pulldown resistor on the output of the mosfet boost to make the switching system work.  Value is not critical...  use 1M and see if that works, and if not make it smaller.

It's not shown on the schematic but is included on the pc boards that I sell.

Oh, no!  I executed my MOSFET Booster for popping when it was innocent!   :icon_cry:  I guess I'll just have to get me one of those boards and build another...
