Headphone Amp Recomendation

Hello all,

My 15 year old son has asked me to make him a small headphone amp he can take to school.

Any recommendations?  His band plays death metal, so a good distortion would be nice.

I put a Ruby into a plastic cigarette case with a transistor Muff Fuzz.  You can get them at any smoke shop.   They have belt clips and the cigarette lighter compartment fits the 9 volt perfect.
