Finally got it a bit working. I changed the coupling cap between FET and LM386 to a 0.0022 and now it's better. Is it better to have a 10k volume pot instead of a 50k? guess not.
Still, the thing is quite acceptable to medium gain, but in higer gains it starts getting a bit farty. Is the 6" speaker the guilty one? I mean: will a 12" reduce the fartiness? It's like a lot of strange harmonics come into play at high gain, while till lets' say volume at 1 o'clock the distortion is really natural.

clean -> sparkly -> natural drive -> "transistor farty"
Very odd...

I demolished an old radio for a noisy cricket. I have 2 2" and 2 4" speakers. I'm curious what it will turn out to be. Maybe I should put all 4 in 1 cab  ;D

and Steben, where are your photo's??
