I have a layout for it but, just wondering if it's worth doing anything with or if anyone has built it?

Mark M! Not Hammer! This thing looks interesting, I really like transistor circuits, and boosters, or any of it combinations! I was drawing its PCB but I never satarted, really, so, I don't know how it sounds. Doyle's designs look pretty good, also Naggy's, with Fet's, what I thnik it's the best device for distortion, even for clean sound too!

Aren't you decided about building it? Just try it, I think you won't regret.

Jay (and welcome back on board!) had a flurry of discrete op-amp type circuits posted in 2001.  If memory serves, this was shortly after I sent him a scan of a Nelson Pass article in "Performer's Audio" that discussed construction/design of discrete op-amps.  I gather Jay was already up on the stuff already since he made far more of the article than I ever could and generated a bunch of diverse circuits (often with accompanying layout) in a short period of time.

My interest in this circuit is piqued because of the Boss ROD-10 I picked up last year.  As you can see here, there is a whole lot you can do with the basic topography Jay uses.

This is also related to the structure of the Boss BD-2 as well.  So, whether you like the layout or not, a good building block and base for experiments.

And this is why I'm happy to see his name among us again.
