Im working on a 4MS Phaseur Fleur and I have parts for the wave shaper and rate doubler mods but the commonsound site doesn't have a wiring diagram for the rate doubler and the wave shaper wiring diagram is based on a completely different PCB than the current version. Can anyone help me figure out how to wire these mods. I emailed Dan Green but he doesn't seem interested in giving me help "for a few weeks."

For the rate doubler I need to add a 100uf cap in parallel to an existing 100uf cap on the board with a 3pdt switch that grounds the negative lead to the input jack. I understand everything except for where to connect the wire from the switch - to the anode or cathode of the other cap? To some other place on the board?

For the wave shaper the old diagram shows cutting a trace and adding a pot apparently between two other parts but the board is so different that I cant figure out how to work the mod. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

I was able to make a phaser fleur with the mods, however it took me a looooong time to figure it out.  What I was able to figure out from trial and error was that the schematic did not correctly indicate how to connect the extra boards for the additional lfo mods in case you are interested in making those.  I do not have the schematics that I was working from around right now, but may be able to scan them this week.  As far as the speed mod goes, the fleur will go plenty fast as it is, so alternatively you can slow down the phase considerably by using an additional resistor in line with the rate pot; although I have not work on this thing in about nine months so I could be wrong.  I made the wave shape mod using I think a DPDT switch, on one side I used the stock value resistor, so no change, and when engaged, the added resistor created a square wave shape, again I will have to look at the schem to say where exactly.  I made a post about this when I first finished the pedal, but I think it is spelled "phaeur fleur"  try searching that and see what you find.
Since when is 3/4 of the way up "cranked"?

If you get a chance to look at yours that would be great. The reason I want to do the speed doubler mod is so I can get the LFO into the audio range if I want. Im just generally pissed off and more than half of the "resources" for building the kit are long out of date.

The 'problem' parts to acquire are apparently the ldr's, i got mine from electronic goldmine, again search for the phaseur fleur and you should find a link directly to the product.  Every other part for this thing can be had easily.  As far as audible goes, you can make the thing screech like a siren by adjusting the resonance knob and internal trimmer, although it is not very useful unless you like that sort of thing.  And a tip, use larger caps for the filters, I think I used .1's instad of the reccomended .001, it made a much thicker sound.

I have all the parts - I bought a kit from Dan at 4MS but when I emailed him he gave me a broad general idea of the theory behind the mods but wouldn't tell me how to do them. I have to actually get everything wired up beyond the board which is populated now to make a judgment about the caps.  When I say "audui ranbge" I mean the LFO goes so fast that it produces a tone rather than joust a swirling sound.

Did you make it on a pcb? if so it shouldnt be hard to make changes to the caps,  I made this on perf, let me tell you it was dicey trying to change the caps, but I was able to alter them by snipping the leads of the old caps, and solderiing the new ones onto the back of the board instead of replacing the old caps.  Also, are you making the additional lfo mods with the additional op amps?  if so, I will save you any additional problems on that, only one of them will work, the one that has the additional led / ldr parts, dont bother with the other one. another tip, when you wrap the led/ldr combo for light tightness, wrap each set individually ie, it should be wrapped by
ldr/ led/ldr
---------------
ldr/ led/ldr
--------------
ldr/ led/ldr

maybe this will make sense when it shows up on the post.

As far as the audible sound goes, I altered mine to go slower, not faster, so I don't know how it would be done exactly, I more or less modded mine to replicate a doppelganger.

Did some tracking from the old PCB and I think i figured out the mods. Hopefully this works when I put it together. It seems like 1 in 10 people get these to work the first few times.
