Hey :)
i need to build a very clean boost..
I heared about the AMZ, and the Tonemender.
I don't want it to be gainy at all, and there souldn't be even a gain pot.
And i want it to have a boost pot, to control the boost level.
anyone has any idea?
Thanks :)

This is an easy one, simple op amp driven booster with a gain of 1000, about as easy as it gets. 1 ohm and a 10 k, the proper filtering caps on the input and a 500 K linear pot as your volume/boost.
You said you want clean so the best chip would be a 532 or a 604.
I've built a few versions of these simple amplifier circuits and they work really well, pinch harmonics that would make Zakk Wylde envious. I'm actually surprised such simple designs aren't far more popular for larger amps, meanwhile everyone builds tube screamers or gain monsters with a half dozen knobs and several switches. Nothing wrong with that at all but a straight forward booster with mass amounts of gain can often be all a lot of amps really need.

And make sure you're using a bipolar supply too, running it off +/- 18V would be optimal... Hmm, a 30V+ p-p signal? That's going to make your pre-amp work  :icon_evil:

hi
What about the XOTIC RC?
I know, it's a little bit expensive but it sounds good and clean

rog omega
not as clean as amz mosfet boost but more tube-like

+1 for the Gus Smalley booster: my first build ever and has been on my pedalboard eversince ... added a switch to change the input caps and have found myself always using it in the 'deep' mode :) Very simple and nice design!

My favorite boosters are:

Stratoblaster, Then I made a modded version that I really liked too. ROG Omega is the best booster I have used. I also made a variation of the Easy Drive, which is an overdrive, using an on-off-on switch to switch from Si diodes to boost to red LED's. I call it the Big EZ. It has no pots just two switches. This pedal sees the most action on my pedal board.

1 ohm? and 10K.   How big is the cap on the 1 ohm leg?
