Potentiometer Options

I know how to kncrease a potentiometers value by how would i go about decreasing it.  I have a 100k lin and i want to make it a 10k lin(hopefully with a full sweep)

This is probably a noob question but i have never ran across this problem before.

Put a 11k or 10k resistor in paralel with the two outside lugs of the pot
