Gah! this is really frustrating because I've just spent 7 hours building this . Basically when i plug my g-tar in and my amp in, on bypass mod mode theres little sound. When i turn on the distortion nothing happens! I doubt its my wiring coz I followed everything precisely. Could it be my components? I am swapped the 0.47 and 0.068 for polyester film instead of green caps.

I declare BANKCRUPTCY!

If you have it wired true bypass and there's a volume drop in bypass vs. a straight cable to your amp, then it seems like there must be something wrong with your wiring.  Your best bet is to double check your wiring, and test for continuity between your input jack and output jack when the circuit is bypassed (use the lowest resistance setting on your DMM for this; if you don't have a DMM, get one).  Check your grounds as well.  Get the bypass issue worked out first, and then if you still have problems with the effect, make an audio probe and trace through the circuit until you find where the sound stops (see http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/debug.html).

Good luck!

No sound even in bypass mode...??? Looks like you have wiring problems in switching. Look carefully how you've wired them. Or maybe you can put out the switch first, and wired directly only the input and output jack to your board. Still no sound..?? Use audio probing technic. Good luck..

This can be really frustrating, but if we are going to help you then you need to give more information.  There's a nice guide to what you should tell us on the Debugging Page linked at the top.

Good luck!  gm

Audio probe is your best friend. I had this problem once, except i had no sound either way. I solved the issue in literally 1 minute with the audio probe. I had a cold joint on the input jack. That never helps :D

Good luck, be sure to post results
