I have noticed with the 3 that I have built that they are all rather quiet circuits compared with most others.

Well it doesn't have tons and tons of output level, but there is certainly a volume hike when it is on.  remember, the stock version has no way to dial back the volume to achieve effect/bypass volume balance, so it is designed to provide just a bit of solo lift when on.
