Hughes and Kettner Style Circuit?

Hi Everyone!

I'm wondering if there is an H&K style pedal/preamp that anyone has built?  H&K is my favorite amp company and I'd love to be able to capture some of that tone.  I know that there are schematics available for things like the cream machine, but that is a bit out of my league.  Is there anything out there along the lines of the ROG emulation circuits.  Any info would be great, thanks.

Cream Machine isn't too bad, you can do without the opamps and switching, and just do the tube section. It makes a decent guitar amp by itself. There is no "H&K sound" really, so  Fetzers and a speaker sim might be fun.

I haven't tried any circuit designing yet, but I'd like to. Maybe take the tone stack out of the H and K Vortex (because it seems simple enough) and build it into a ruby or after one of the AMZ miniboosters or something like that.  Would this be possible?  I'm not sure where to put it in the circuit though....

I was also thinking that the cream machine could make a good ROG style pedal using  the tube section.  It's probably a better idea than using the tonestack with a boost.

SDRed, to be honest the Jfet "ampsim" thing has all been done to death, ROG and others ( including me ) have
simulated all the major amp tones that are worth doing, IMHO once you get past those, many others are just
derivatives with quite small and subtle changes to a few basic circuits.
I bullt several from scratch using schems and found that they quickly start to sound VERY similar, so with a HK product, you
will not find a new "world beating" tone to be honest.
I would recommend building one or two of the "known" circuits, such as :

Fetzer valve - for the basic "Fender" tone
Supreaux
English Channel
Thor
Dr Boogey
Bassman ( My Bass boy '59 )

You'll cover all the bases with a few of these, any others will just be "flavours" of the same basic Jfet "tone"
( trust me , I've built and replicated enough of them to know !! )

I actually noticed last night when going through the schematics of the cream machine and the crunch machine that the gain stages are very similar to Fender like you said.

Oh well...
