Standalone Marshall Tonestack?

Anyone have a project (schem or layout) for a standalone Marshall tonestack? Going to build a simple EQ, and haven't found the ones i searched for here very interesting.. And i really like how the tonestack in the Guv'nor pedal works.

If no such thing already exists, how should i go about to do this? I guess i could just use the tonestack on it's own, but i think the volume would drop significally then. Any advice?

Thanks

Have you looked at the ROG tone mender ?
You can build a standalone, buffer IC up front and a gain make up with the other half after
fairly easy, or "drop one in" to a circuit and add same gain lift at end or the BM final stage, just a few components.

Okay, is see.. Buffer in front and the gain recovery stage after?

I prefer pots to shape the sound, so the tonemender isn't really an alternative.

A down and dirty way of doing it is to make your signal go into a buffer and then into the 3 band tonestack. From there, go into a non-inverting opamp or transistor/foot boost circuit.

i stripboarded a standalone polytone tonestack. its not verified but the schem is next to it for debugging if it doesnt work.

just search polytone on the forum.

Hi, with a big help of this forum and others I just finished to build this

http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=63248.0

I'm going to test it this evening, but the prototype is working fine.

the tone circuit is coming from big muff, but I think you can "cut&paste" the Marshall one or, I think, anyone else

Eh... take a look again at the Tonemender:

(I think you've got it confused with the Runoffgroove Mr EQ project.)

Glad I could help a bit Magnus N, I normally "take" from here, so I'm happy this time I could "give"

Thanks! I get confused all the time.  : ;D

I'm usually just "taking" too, so i try to share everything i design.

If you have a really high gain circuit and can stand the insertion loss, I have this passive Marshall tone stack that I used on a project once:

So - am I right in thinking the Tonestack could be used after a clean booster to give a sort of Normal Amp / Scooped Marshall sound in on convenient footswitch?

Kind of like a Graphic EQ pedal, but with less pots etc...

...or - after something like a RangeMaster for a bit of gritty fun maybe?
