808 mid pot

Hi all, i'm new here, i built an 808 and was wodering if anyone has tried adding a mid pot and how its done. tried searching but couldn't find anything. thanks

Welcome.  What do you mean by a "mid pot"?  Do you mean a midrange EQ control (i.e., cut/boost), or a control that lessens the famed peaky mids of the unit?

excuse my ignorance. maybe it can't be done with a pot. was just hoping i could dial in a midrange with an external pot. the tone control seems like it affects the highs more than the mids.

No excuses needed.  You know what you know, and you don't know what you don't know.  Frank's recommendation of jack Orman's article is an excellent one.  You should probably also take a look at the Technology of the Tube Screamer article at www.geofex.com too.  It's a classic.  You'll come away a lot amarter after reading both. :icon_biggrin:

hey, thanks. that article of jack's is really extensive, i must try some of those ideas.
