Long Story (Start Here) Ok, so I have been trying to get at least one pedal up and running for a while now without success. At first, I thought the arrows on my electrolitic capacitors were pointing in the direction the current was supposed to flow, i.e. towards the positive side. Well, once I got that sorted out, I still wasn't getting anything, so after much consideration and a few etched boards aside I realised that I was looking at the mirror image of the board ( I wasn't using a printer, I was transfering with paper and pencil). So I then got that sorted out and fired her up and... nothing. Looked over my circuit and everything looked good, but no sound. (I was breadboarding this time) Finally, I tried rotating a transistor and bingo! we have fuzz! Needless to say I was thrilled to have any sound at all. Now the only problem is...

Short Story (Start Here) ... I am making a Fuzz Face using the schematic on the tonepad page and while the circuit works and it gives fuzz, the volume is quite low. Even when I have the volume and Fuzz pots all the way up, the volume is considerably less than when I switch the effect off to my clean channel. I am guessing that I need to adjust my resistor values? The battery I am using is pushing 8.99 volts. I am using the resistor values from the schematics but, of course, when I got my transistors from small bear electronics, they recommened different values, but I had already placed my order. It will be no trouble to go out and get some different values though, if this is the likely culprit!

Thanks for any help!

Yo

I'd replace the resistors with the small bear recommended values...

Thanks! We have a Fry's in town so I am going to try to swing by and pick those up!
