Hi,

strange question maybe, but what can I do to give my big muff a bit less volume? It's just too loud and the pot's a bit touchy. Im using a 100kA vol pot right now. Would changing it to 50k result in a little less output?

Thanks

  nope, yupp.

Yupp, a little less. Might wanna try a 100k resistor across the 100k pot, or a two x 47k string across the three lugs...or some other taper.
Reducing the resistance to ground from the wiper [ie, add a resistor from wiper lug to ground lug] means you'll have to turn it farther up to get less shunting to ground [same loudness, higher setting].
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
