I did sound for a gig last night, and noticed on the opener's pedalboard, a plain die-cast box with "Compressor" written on it. I asked about it, and the guitar player said "a friend built it for me. It's based on the Ross compressor." I could have guessed.

I think it's great to see more and more of this, maybe inspired by the BYOC kits, not to mention this stompbox forum. It reminds me of the olden days when Heathkit and Paia ruled the earth. I just wanted to take a moment and say that I love this hobby/profession/obsession, and it's nice to see it growing like it is.

I wouldn't be surprised if the person who built that pedal frequents this forum.
