I was given some caps and was trying to figure out what they were (compostion wise). They're .01 I know that much but not sure if they're metal film, polystyrene etc. I haven't figured out how to post pics yet but they are pretty small, rectangular 1cm by 1/2cm. They're an almost translucent silver color like that weird candy dish candy. The only text has a "R" logo in a box, .01 M, then 100:503. I know this isn't much info but I thought I'd give it a shot...

I can't say exactly without seeing them but your description sounds like metalized film. I doubt they are polystyrene as they are usually round, barrel shaped.

Can anyone help me identify these caps?

I've tried different calculators, but they show me different values...

Are you sure that isn't resistors? They have capacitive properties as well...

I don't know, they look different from resistors I know.
I asked for 2 0,0039uF capacitors in my store and they gave me those.

And my multimeter shows nothing, so they're not resistors i guess...

Anyone?

They look like chokes to me.

I found out that they're 10nF electrolytic capacitors.
