i am building the rosscomp from tonepad, and i ordered a trimpot from smallbear... the trimpot doesnt fit into the pcb how it really should... if i put it in upside down would that work?   it would just be a reverse pot , right?

Do you mean to mount it on the solder side? If you respect the pin-to-pin orientation you won't have any problem. BTW, I always change it with a double 1k fixed resistor combo, and is perfect  ;)

no, i mean just spinning it 180 on the correct side of the board.   the trimpot i got from smallbear doesnt fit the pcb layout.    btw, what is a double fixed resistor (sorry if that is a dumb question, but im a noob).  maybe ill just get one of those.  you think they have them at rat shack?

no, it doesn't matter, a linear pot is like reversing tot or wow, the order is still the same.
