I found this mod that enables you to switch between two separate reverb knobs with LED indication using a 3pdt foot switch. I just did the mod and it works great except for one thing. When i stomp the mod footswitch it pops. I found this mod somewhere over a year ago as i was surfing and cant find it again to ask the person how to fix the prob. In his layout he shows a place for a cap but said on his page that it does no good and to just ignore it in the drawing.
Any ideas on how to fix the pop?

Anybody know how to not have the switch pop?!!!!

Try to disconnect the diode and check if it still pops, just to start somewhere.

Hi there,

That would be one of my mods... It's inside the ANY machines folder on the gallery.

The quality of the footswitch is probably the most important in this particular mod,
I used a Fulltone 3PDT in mine and honestly the pop I was left with didn't warrant
me to try and solve the popping. Especially in Live performances (where this mod
is the most usefull) it was never that loud that it was a problem. What I did do was
to power up the pedal before I switched on the amp and switched it about 4 to 6 times.
This reduced the popping to a faint "p.."

However, in completeness, I did install the cap initially to reduce pop.
I noticed however that the way I installed it it was just dulling down the tone of the
reverb signal. You could try a 1 meg resistor to ground on the output of the switch.
I never bothered so I don't know if it will actally do any good.

Hope I could enlighten you a bit there...
Cheers

It's supposed to sound that way.

i can see a big green one at the picture, ... if it is a picture of your HG indeed :)

Just looking at the components I see 2 which are known for popping.
 The switch and the cap.
Switch check would mean use another switch, hopefully last resort isn't needed here/doubtful of improvement.
First I'd try 'pulldown resistor' on the Cap, if it can hold a small amount of DC charge, when it's connected to the circuit the discharge can cause pop, the cap looks like it should be treated like an input cap at a true bypass S.Sw, with >1M pulldown resistor to ground.
upon further inspection, Veeshkuls on to something there, easy to lift the LED and re-test.
does look bright...if it pulls enough current that's enough to throw a power supply voltage spike into the SP.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

THANKS!!  I will try to lift the LED and see if that works. Great mod "any"! It really makes my live settings more flexible. Right now I just bypass the pedal and then switch between pots so their is no sound.
If the LED doesn't fix it I will try the resistor.
Thanks again!
