bc108c transistor substitution

what is the difference in a BC108 and BC108C? and are they interchangeable in a fuzz face stomp box, if not what is a good sub for the BC108C?

you can try BC108B Bc109,109b,109C.,

higher gain transistors like 2N5089 and 2N5088 will be better subs for the BC108c
