I don't usually make threads like this, but I just couldn't resist:

Could anyone help me find a fuzz that will give me that great fuzz sound which can be heard on Led Zep's version of "You shook me" ?
I 'm after something warm and farty here. You probably get the picture.  ;)

From what I've read it's a Tonebender MKII right?
That's why I built one and love the sound.

Krinor

I read that too, and built one - but mine just won't do the fart thing.  :D

drewl

stick it in the icebox, or slightly "unbias" it.

Yeah, that's right! The MKII, that's the sound! I think it's quite difficult to make it sound that way... I always get too much gain even from mid gain trannies.
Hey! Turk-&-J.D.! And J.D.!

Maybe play with the input cap of the MKII

Dragonfly did a fat-bottomed 2-tranny fuz that I'd bet would cover that territory very well. Just can't remember the dern thing's name, he's done so many...

Yeah that's right. Andrew probably knows... So let's hope he sees this thread eventually.

I nailed that sound with telecaster+fulltone soulbender+fender twin.

Krinor

Nice.  :icon_biggrin: Will check that one out.
