  It seems to have 'eliminated' what I keep requiring to get interested enough in building a pre-amp without the transformers.
  And it looks like he's managed to get it down.
   Still I'm not as adventuresome to feel like a more conventional approach wouldn't be better for me as a first try at a mic-pre build.
