Ok, now it sort of works. When the volume is really really loud I can sort of hear it. When I turn the pedal on I can't hear it any more.

Connect the two jack sleeves directly together, with no connection to the breadboard. Connect the two tips directly to the DPDT switch as well. Your bypass signal will then have nothing to do with the breadboard at all, and you can check that it passes the clean signal correctly. Once that's confirmed, run a wire from one of the two linked sleeves to the bottom row of your breadboard for the ground connection and you can start debugging the active circuit.

Ok so I got the bypass working. I haven't soldered yet though. So are you saying that the 2 jacks have to be directly soldered to each other and then 1 to the ground for this to work fully? I'll try this in a minute.

They don't have to be connected that way for the stage you're at, but in terms of checking the bypass it removes the breadboard as a possible source of poor connection. If you then connect the jack ground to the breadboard ground and the signal degrades, then you know something is wrong with the breadboard circuit but not your bypass.

Oh ok I see, well I used the breadboard and the bypass is working fine now, but the effect doesn't work. But I suppose this is a step closer =]. the breadboard is bran new so I think it should be fine.

I have managed to get the bypass to work, or I have managed to get both to work at extremely small volumes.

I can't seem to find a camera at the moment, so I think I will do what someone suggested and do it on a proper board. So if I do it on a proper board following dragonfly's layout it should work right? What are the chances that it won't work due to a broken part? I ordered all my parts from smallbear, so I think they should be good. I think what the problem is is most likely the jacks, I seem to have alot of problems figuring out which hole goes to which part of the jack.

If someone could tell me the bits from left to right what the parts are on the jacks (tip, ring, sleeve), I think it would sort everything out and I don't want to mess it up when I solder. I've tried all sorts of combinations, but I think something is probably wrong with my setup on the bread board stopping the right combination from working properly. I had this problem on my last build, and I spent hours mixing and testing different wire combinations until I got one to work.

Thanks for all your help =]

What type of jack sockets do you have? If you have a picture of one, I can draw some arrows on it pointing to the right lugs.
