Wiring:  Effect output to pot wiper AND output jack,  lug 3 to ground, lug 1 no connection.
Question:  Anything inherently wrong with this method?
(BTW it's an axis fuzz and it goes into a mosfet boost)

yeah. it won't work very well. so you basically just want the pot to give a resistance to ground, which as you turn the pot the resistance becomes less and lowers the volume? if you wanted to do that i'd suggest maybe a 10k log pot. you'll find that with a guitar signal just adding resistance to ground won't do much except weaken your tone until you get to around 2k ohm or so, or even less where the volume very rapidly begins to mute. if there's a buffer before the resistor then you need even less resistance.

why not just do a normal voltage divider? use a linear pot, 100k or so. hook up the effect output to one side, the output jack to the wiper, and ground to the other side. think of it at the wiper selecting from the full signal at one end, and full ground (mute), and everything in between is a variance in volume.

Using one of Aron's  switches = one set switching between 2 fuzz intensities...one set for 2 LEDs...& the last set choosing between 2 volume pots...and I don't want them interacting w/each other.  I assume I'm ruining my output impedance?  But I don't hear it.

ohh yeah. i get you. so you want a swithc which pretty much takes the circuit but changes the values in one shot. that will work.

i have an idea. i'll just try to type it out, but if i need to draw a pic let me know.

so.. have one 'set' to select the correct intensity pot. have one set to select the appropriate LED, and one set for the output pot. --> for the LED set, make it switch a ground connection for the LED, not the active one. that way you can also have the same second set send ground to each 'output' pot in a normal voltage divider setup. then have the third set tap off the appropriate wiper of only one of the output pots. does that sound like it will help you out? like i said, let me know if you want me to draw a quick diagram to see what you think.
