I'm building a ToneBender MKII and I'd like to replace the 8.2k resistor on Q3's collector with a trimpot.I don't have a 20k trimpot but I do have a 25k.Will this be close enough to get me a 4.5VDC reading?

Yes.  IF you wire it as a variable resistor (connect lug 2 with either lug 1 or 3).  This will give you adjustment from 25k to about zero ohms.

FYI, most inexpensive pots are around 20% tolerance, so 25k is just barely outside spec.

I just installed the 25k trimpot and got a 4.5VDC reading with no problem.

Thanks for the help Alex,

Billy
