He may have added it to his libraries- gm-ics. Try downloading over at gaussmarkov. :)

hi, just happened to stop by and saw this.  you're right, the LM386 has disappeared.  i will make a new one tomorrow.  i apologize for the confusion.

i move around between several computers and occasionally i overwrite a library with an older one.  i try to keep the latest on gaussmarkov.net but i guess i mess up sometimes. :icon_confused:

The second thing you learn to do with a new PCB layout software package is how to make a new component for your library. This comes 'way before ever running a trace in a real board. Until you can make your own, you're just depending on other people.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

o.k.  i just updated the gm libraries.  besides restoring the new gm-ics.lbr, which has the LM386 in it, i also placed more recent versions of gm-pots, gm-jacks, and gm-resistors.  the pots library now has a 16mm Alpha pcb mount pot and the resistors library has a start on some larger resistor sizes for 1/2W, 1W, and 2W resistors.  the jacks library has several Neutrik PCB mount jacks in it, regular and slim-line sizes.

a tutorial on making components has been on my to do list for quite a while. :icon_wink:  i'm pretty sure there are some excellent tutorials out there already.  it seems like the eagle user base and on-line tutorials have grown quite a bit lately.

please feel free to send me a pm when something like this seems amiss!

p.s.  hmm.  i also made a Kobiconn pcb mount DC jack somewhere.  when i find that i will add that too. :icon_wink:

hey, i added the pcb mount dc jack to the jacks library.

btw, if anyone wants to contribute components to the gm libraries, then i would be happy to add them.  i would only ask that everyone understands that each contribution would be reviewed with the idea of trying to keep everything verified and consistent.  i am by no means perfect at this but i would like to at least maintain the current quality level of the libraries, however high or low that may be.  :icon_biggrin:

also, i am in the (slow) process of revamping some of the libraries.  the initial organization was helpful when i was just getting started, and i don't want to lose that advantage, but it's a little inefficient as the libraries grow.  suggestions for improvements or additions are welcome.

cheers, paul
