stage bypass

In a circuit like the Whisker Biscuit if I wanted to bypass the initial boost stage would it be feasible to use a spdt (input to center, outside lug 1 to boost stage, outside lug 2 inserted before coupling cap of fuzz stage)? Or would I also need to break the connection before the coupling cap when the boost is bypassed so the fuzz stage doesn't see the bypassed boost stage at all?

Is this a convoluted question or do you get what I'm asking?

Mostly I need to know about potential loading from the bypassed boost stage on the fuzz if there is a permanent connection between the stages.

My searches have only turned up one thread with a similar question/answer, but I'd like some verification on the advice given in that thread:
