Increasing Volume on most things..

  Changes more than just volume.
  I can't help but wonder how many requests like mine :I want this box to be louder: have related, relevant, important... missing context like:
  The speaker is nearly maxxed.
  The amp is already pushed really hard and sounds good.
  There is a distortion-clipper right after the box that 'want's  to be louder.
  There is a booster right after the box that wants to be louder, and it is nearly 'railed out' [running out of headroom]. 
  Signifigant volume change is nearly always accompanied with changes in tone.

My biggest issue with volume loss, is such pedals as the Ampeg Scrambler clone. Having not heard an original scrambler, I don't know whether or not it has the same issues, but the clone is just a very quiet pedal. It doesn't matter where you have it in a chain of effects (even before or after boosters) it just drags the volume of everything down. I have searched for mods to make it louder but anything I have done has done next to nothing
