Hey all, it's been a while  ;)

I've done a heap of work on my wah, and spent a lot of time looking for the right sweep. I think i've got the tone I want, but the sweep range just doesnt quite do it for me. When I bought the wah 2nd hand it had a scratchy pot and I had it replaced with a Dunlop Hot Potz - I believe it's 100k.
Basically at the moment, the pot has way too much sweep into low frequencies and just as its starting to scream and get nice and trebly, thats the end of the range. I've tried turning the pot to give me more high end but the pot actually doesnt turn any further.

So I'd like to know some opinions on a good replacement pot for a V847, I'd like something with a nice smooth sweep and the ability to adjust it's position to get more bass or highs, perhaps a 100k pot isnt the way to go?
If you could help me out with some web sites to look at it would be good too.

Thanks!

When you say Hotpotz, is it the Hotpotz II?  Or the Hotpotz I?  (Both are 100k)

ayayay!

I just grabbed this schematic from my first hit, so it might not be the best one.  Anyway, I'd suspect the 470 ohm resistor off the emitter of Q1 more than the pot, personally.  But raising it may drop overall volume slightly, so you may have to boost the output a bit.

Try 500  or 530 ohms and see if you get a little more bass definition back, plus a little more top end.  Cheaper than a pot!  A 330 and 200 in series would work, or a 470 and 33 ohm.   ;)
