I have no idea what the VA is...how could I find that out?

short answer....... Google or Search here

VA is short for writing Volts x Amps

And we all know what happens if you do V x A....... you get Watts!!

Its just a way of showing its power rating. Google "Ohms law" and then google "Volts x Amps" There is mroe free info out there than you are likely ever to have the time to read.  I found writing basic things down in a notepad for reference helped till I got it down in the brain fully

Ok thanks...

2A Slow Blo?

Not too sure what would be best as I dont know what your current draw will be. Oh hang on tube driver @ 500ma....... Well 2A slow blow seems like over kill to me. Maybe someone with a better feel for fuse ratings will pop up soon.  I only have 3A Slo blow on my Matamp 1224!! and 1A Fast blow on the HT.

remember you are pulling 500mA at 12 volts so at the mains side of the transformer you are pulling allot less, your voltage goes down the current goes up.  try a much smaller fuse and fast blow too! try maybe a 200mA Fast blow 20mm Glass type fuse,
