TS: (1K+0.22uf) RC into (1,5K+0.22uf) RC = more bass???

after a lot of reading and building a lot of ts for friends I was wandering some cool untold mods.

what would happens if I increase the 1K resistor (of the RC after the clipping stage) to 1,5K or even 2,2K??

I know I should get more bass (the Hz low pass was 720Hz), but would it be a muddy unclear bass or it would just the bass that is over 330Hz in the TS still a lot clear?

I think you'd have to just try it out, my man! ha ha.  Seems like nobody's tried it.  I'd think it might be muddy or not do much at all, since the slope for a passive RC filter like that has a pretty broad Q and the cutoff is not exact....not a sharp slope.  But, the change would almost halve the cutoff, so you should get SOME result.  Just how it will sound, good or bad, is not clear to me.

Try this whichever you like.

Right now TS circuit  is on my breadboard, I like the Tone Control 5 with bonus of two 1n34 GE diode tap on ground. It's less hiss when treble is full and extra clipping is achived (Lagniappe) Thanks JACK ORMAN  :icon_wink:

I predict that the gain would be reduced slightly in the upper frequencies making the bass sound stronger relatively.

To boost the bass in comparison of the highs, increase the capacitor value to .33uf and beyond.  Usually more bass means more mud, so it is a "compromise solution".

You can also tweak the caps at input to customize you bass response.   :icon_cool:
