HELP:DS-1 doesn't distort only the clean signal

My original BOSS DS-1 unit won't distort and the LED's doesn't light as the switch is engage.

Later, as I touch any pins of Q4 and Q5 (C945 from the original schematic) using a metal object, the LEDs now light as well as the distortion. Alternately touching the pins bypasses the signal and so forth.

What could be the possible cause?Is it the FETs(K30)?

It's probably a problem with the switch. Try touching the pins of the switch together and see if that engages the effect, if it does then you probably need a new switch.

No, it has nothing to do with the two terminals. I did try desoldered the wires running from them and touch each others end and found no luck.

ok, mine seems to have somewhat similar symptoms.

The effect is always engaged and will not turn off. The sound is fine, just the effect wont turn off. Which are the switching FETs?
