I just read a thread title "This Booster is like a..." in the beginner section.

The question has anyone seen a guitar bass effect circuit like this before that uses a bootstrapped input and a gain control in a booster like this?  Not the fragments but the total circuit.

The basic parts of the circuit are not new standard circuit fragments.  Cap, emitter resistor bypass gain control.  Bootstrapping a standard  bias gain setting resistor circuit.

The basic idea is the B to E voltage drop is kind of constant so taking a output from the emitter and driving the bias string node via the cap to the three resistor node drives the bias string node so the hfe X the non bypassed part of the emitter R has more effect on setting the input R by "removing" the string at AC.  Also the lower value bias resistors values give a more stable DC bias.
