Hi!
I was wondering if StereoMicroamp from tonepad would work as preamp for my soundcard.
I want completely clean guitar siganal amplified to line-level. No distortion or tone modification what so ever.
I need it for modeling software.

Thanks!

Anything with a high input-Z and low output-Z will be fine.  Normal guitar level, while not anywhere near line level, is much closer to line level than voice mics are.  If you have a gain of up to x10 between guitar and soundcard, you should be fine.

So I'll build myself one of these? : )

And... for electret microphones, I need to add a bias for them and use it like normal?

That's why I want to build the stereo version.

Should work fine.  Just make sure you can vary the gain to achieve the best S/N ratio.

Thanks!
But shall it work for a bass guitar?
Or do i need to mess around with input caps?

Thanks a bunch for your answers : )!

Suck it and see. If it was me I'd use a DI box, but I have one to use. If you don't, you might get by without it.
