Here's my first attempt at a PCB layout, I'd appreciate some feedback on positioning or any other problems I made.

I made a layout for Tim Escobedo's UglyFace circuit with the mods from the home-wrecker.com perf build at http://www.home-wrecker.com/uglyface.html.  I wasn't able to get a layout that worked without jumpers or traces on the top of the board, but here's the best I could do.

I also added a ground pour by following GaussMarkov's instructions, I assume this is a good idea.

And here's one without the components, the text seems to obscure the traces in a couple places

And here's the schematic

I had a look & couldn't see any obvious errors in the PCB, compared to the schematic.
I'd build it & see what happens! Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for taking a look.  I was also a interested in any bad PCB layout techniques (IE running things near other things that they shouldn't be near, is it OK to have the ground pour in all sorts of places it doesn't really need to be and other things I wouldn't even think of).  The only thing I see is that the output from the 386 looks a bit long and snaking, so hopefully that's not an issue.

I've mucked around with it some more and I've got a (hopefully) better setup now that leaves room to lay out the pots right on the board.  I also fixed some angles and increased the spacing around for the ground pour and the width of the traces.

I'll probably give it a shot this weekend, I'll update on how it goes.

RG wrote a book on PCB layout techniques. If you're looking to improve your PCB layout skills, I'd highly recommend it. You can get it at www.smallbearelec.com .
