adding an "aftermarket" tube series to a ruby.

I have a bread-boarded ruby, and I just got a 12ax7 tube. I want to add the tube booster section from the ruby tuby to my pre-existing ruby. Would I need to change any of the resistors or caps in my ruby to make them compatible?

also, I used a TL082 as opposed to a 072. Is the difference between a JFET opamp and a BiFET opamp enough to make it scream like a banshee?

If I'm not mistaken even 12ax7's have a cutoff of 12VDC.  A ruby amp is powered by 9VDC so in order to do what your talking about your gonna have to supply more voltage to the circuit somehow.

i've been using a regulated 12V source for the ruby, adn now i'm using it to power both. does the cutoff mean that that is the minimum voltage?

12a_7 type 12v tube circuits barely get a tube working, headroom therefore output is small, just enough to get some bias on, and boost from.
Apparently there's a sweet spot [using tubes designed for HV for LV boost] people have for LV tube circuits, I've tried only a couple.
