Maybe i was wrong. If i take out the SAD, the distortion stops...
But no flanging then 

Don't know how much current the SAD draws, but maybe removing the SAD simply increases V+/headroom sufficiently to avoid distortion. Stupid theory?

Ahh... i guess i'll have to live with it... or rebuild... or put that thing away, and try later...

Do you get big jet-plane effect with the 9V electric mistress? or do you have to mod it a little to get this effect?
