Sanding a wah enclosure!?

I have a SmallBear wah enclosure. First I left it unsanded and used a red metal cast paint. Looked great with the bare transparent surface. I didn't want a smooth chrome look. Chipped right off. So I sanded best I could. Hard to get around the odd shape. Re-painted it the same. Still looks great but i'm trying to refrain my self from picking at it like a scab on my knee.

Any body have a great, easy time finishing one of these?

the best thing is a wire wheel .  Made for angle grinders originally, I think,  I got mine from the home improvements place in the tool section.  It's made for a drill.  works great- they've got coarse and fine.
