Will this Preamp A/B idea work?

I've had an idea for something I think is pretty cool - basically a DIY routing/switching box to go with my pedal setup, but to switch between the following:
- 2 guitars
- effects chain / tuner
- 2 preamps

Something like this:

The first two are nothing new, but I'm not exactly sure how well the preamp switching will work.  I have been using a Mesa Boogie V-Twin directly into the input of an older (ie, no FX loop) Peavey Classic 50, but I recently upgraded to a THD Bivalve.  I'd like to use the Bivalve's preamp for clean sounds, and the Blues/Solo channels of the V-Twin as my two distortion preamps.  From the preamps, the signal will go through the effects, and then out to the Bivalve's FX return.

For the preamp loop switching, I was thinking of something like this:

One thing I'm concerned about is popping as I switch between preamps.  Can anyone think of a reason this wouldn't work? (aside from the fact that the LEDs aren't grounded off the switch ;) )
