I want to use a switch to increase the value of a resistor spst?

Im thinking about using a switch to increase the resistor value of the 8.2 off the collector of the Fuzz face to 18k. I know how to do it with a dpdt but i think that would be a waste . How would this be wired? One lug of the spst with a 10k resistor to? Lift off one get of the 8.2k from the board and.. and ...

I suck at switches..but working on it?

Any help or similiar layouts?

There are a few ways to do it....

You can either use a switch to go between those two values, or you can use a switch to add a "10k" resistor in series with the 8k2

If you need, I can draw up a diagram....

Like Andy posted wire a 10K and a 8.2K in series.  Use a SPST to short out the 10K for 8.2K or opened for 18.2.

You can also use two resistors in parallel one 18K always wired in.  The 2nd would have one end connected to one end of the 18k and the other end would be switched in with a SPST switch you will need to calculate the parallel value for the total lower value.   Two 18Ks will give 9K

Thats what I want to do but just realized it would be a spdt.

A pic/layout would be great. It seems everytime i get away from building effects for a while I forget everything I know.

Thanks for the pic yall. Looks as though just a spst switch would work fine

Paralleling a 18k and a 15k will get you the 8k2.
