Hey guys, first off, this isn't a Fuzz Face, it's the "other" FF clone...  ;)

Last December I made one of these for my Father-in-law as just a regular pedal, but I had the idea hit me after playing with it that if you control the "Stab" knob with your foot you can control the pitch of the self oscillation frequency in real time. I found this casing that belonged to the other guitar player in my band and it was covered in tar, so I cleaned the tar off, pulled 3 of the 4 pots out of it, put in a new slide pot, and wired everything up like a regular FF. (The extra slide pot I left in there because it's part of the pedal mechanism and I didn't want to have to completely redo that).

Anyways, how does it sound you ask? In a word, interesting. It does not sound very much like the first one I made, nor do the Z#&X presets match up like they did the first time I made one, however, the sound is incredibly unique. It can have a very balls out fuzz tone, or a crazy 8-bit sound, but the ability to control the Stab knob this way adds a dimension to the sound that I never expected nor do I think you can even get with a regular FF. I'm going to try to get a couple sound clips for you tonight because this just has to be heard. I'm very excited to use it in my main rig. ;D

Do you know where I could find a perfboard layout for "the other" FF?  I've been thinking of trying to build one of these, but I'm pretty new to this and haven't learned how to make PCB's yet.
