If I wanted to build an A/B selector without the Leds would all I need to do is this

The input is stereo, and the out puts are mono. Would that be fine or do I need some sort of ground?

As long as whatever you run in/out is grounded, you will be ok, and this will probably work (try it out in a mock-up) - in fact, I'd isolate the jacks from the enclosure with nylon washers to avoid ground loops...the problem I see here is that when 1 input is active, you can get signal bleed from the other jack (probably in the form of noise if no signal is coming thru).   Noise can come in on the unused ground line.

I'd like to see that done with a DPDT, with on row of poles for the inputs, one row for the grounds, or 'outputs'.  So when A is off, its ground is not connected in any way to the output of the box and remains isolated....know what I mean? Another reason for the nylon washers, too....
Good basic idea, I think with a DPDT it will work exactly like it should.   ;o)

Do I just ground it to the enclosure?

A DPDT switch has 6 lugs correct? Could you make a crappy picture maybe?

Remembering of course to NOT have the jacks touching the enclosure (use the nylon washers).  If you do have to ground the enclosure, use the input jack since that one is always "on".
