Hey guys,

I'm attempting to build the ross phaser using the tonepad layout http://www.tonepad.com/getFileInfo.asp?id=99 and I want to add extra stages http://www.tonepad.com/getFileInfo.asp?id=100 ... I wanted to be able to switch between including the extra stages and not, but I wasn't sure where to put the switch so that it would work!  :P

I was hoping someone could tell me what type of switch I need and where to hook it up.  Thanks!  ;)

There are 6 pads on the extra stage board.  2 are for power, 4 are the other stages.  Those letters correspond to the main board.  Put a DPDT switch in between those 4 stage leads.  Draw yourself a diagram to make sure the wires get hooked up correctly.

thanks for the response!!

i'm still a little confused though =/  so the switch goes between the stage connections and not the power connections?

and so on the diagram it would go between the X-N pad connection (lighter blue) and also the Y-0 pad connections (dark blue)?

i'm really sorry to keep asking questions but i'm really new to all of this =]

Thanks!

Do not interrupt power connections.  Those capacitors have to be charged before you want to use them.  The other necessary connections require a glance at the schematic.  The extra stages are not at the beginning or end of the original set of stages.  They are inserted in the MIDDLE.  Therefore it is just a wire.  Think of it in terms of true bypass.  That wire X-Y is "bypass" compared to the extra stages.  Link X-Y to the middle of the DPDT.  Put a wire (bypass) on one side and put N and O from the extra stages on the other.  Make sure X corresponds to iN and Y corresponds to Out.

A crude diagram:

W     X       N
I
R
E       y       O
