I started the GGG ITS8 and had a question on the Red LED clipping Diodes.
The board has the square positive pads in the silk-screened images of the LED where it is flat (Negative).
My question is do I ignore the silk-screens and put the long (positive) leg through the square pads or reverse it and follow the silk-screened images?

As long as your LEDs are facing opposite of each other, relative to the circuit, I don't believe it matters.

I'd have to double check that layout, though.

Normally diodes have the cathode (negative) lead marked with a square pad - opposite of what you see for electrolytic caps.

I'd put a pair of sockets in each of those. Then you can experiment with all kinds of clippers in there.
