Sorry guys, I like the single-coils.  It's the reason that I built the Carvin GK-1.  The question wasn't about coil-tapping switches on humbuckers either.

I think I read too much into that, thinking that he had a tried and tested method.  But I still think it's an interesting idea, and I wonder what you'd have to do to compensate for using either type of pickup in stompbox that works better with the other type.

  I Just thought that I would bring this up once again.  Does seem like an interesting concept.   I find this with some of my pedals.  It would be nice to be able to trow a switch or rotary switch and choose between what pickups you are using.  Any thoughts?

I think there are really two ways to approach this;

1) Aim for a monolithic output tone that compensates for each type of pickup so as to produce that tonal target.

2) Aim for two distinctive tones that complement the qualities of each pickup type, even though you are using the same signal path from the guitar onwards.

The original query doesn't really make clear which of these (if not both) is the objective.
