Non working DS-1

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and new to pedal moding and have a question. I got my hands on a nonworking DS-1. It didn't cost me anything and I thought I would open it up and see if I could get it working and then mod it. After I opened it you could see that the cap at c23 had literally blown up and the diode at D1 had split in half. It looks like someone plugged in a power supply that was to big. I replaced these parts with the appropriate values but it is still not working. Any ideas of what else I might need to replace?

Also I have a friend with a Marshall Jackhammer that needs a new switch. I told him I would put one in for him but have had a hard time finding a schematic. What type of switch is in that pedal? Is it DPDT? DPST? Or somethings else?

Thanks for the help, and I look forward to the great information for pedal mods I can find here.

I'd recommend an audio probe - check out http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/debug.html  Should help you to identify what's cooked.  check your traces too - could be one of them has been damaged when things went bang!!

I am in the process of debugging my ds-1 myself.

Check out the debugging sticky in this forum.  Write down the dc values at each point of your transistors, diodes, caps, etc.

Check out this pdf for a good circuit diagram:

I think it would basically have to be something before the D1 diode, because it is acting sort of like a preventative fuse for the power issue you mentioned. I could be wrong, but I've seen the exact problem on numerous Boss pedals running over the mAh limit.
My tender heart bleeds for you, idiot.
