What GGG Big Muff version did you make and how did it sound?
I am doing the triangle version and another and wanted to see how the others were, especially the Tuned Version.

Bucksears

I built the GGG-tuned one (prior to the info about the different versions added), but modified it during the build for the AMZ Presence (Body) control. It's one heck of a useful fuzz and it's the only one I'm using right now. Does the scooped tone as well as a midrange push that cuts through nicely.
I built another one to the 'Civil War' specs (hoping for 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' in a box); it sounded ok, but the GGG one is much tighter and seemed to have more gain. When I get around to it, I'll sub out the parts to get it to stock GGG specs.

You could try the swollen pickle version too

I finally made my GGG muff up last week, I got the pcb well over a year ago so it's not the new green boards that he is doing.I did a bunch of mods, to the tonestack to change the midscoop - changed C10  to  22nf C11 to 100nf (i think) - increased the feedback caps to 570pf, 0.1uf caps in C1, C3, C4, C7 and C13, C6 and C9 to 1uf .

I like the sound of it  :icon_mrgreen: I know that doesn't help

Best bet is to go with one then tweak. I might change the tone stack in mine to the "swollen pickle" one for the huge midscoop, but put it on a switch so I can leave out the scoop if I desire.

I find it's pretty easy to try out emitter resistor values on a board when I just make the emitter resistor the 'large size', and with long enough legs on it [above the board]..I can parallel resistances right above the board...testclipped wires or even 'piggyback' resistors.
With the BMP interstage capacitor values it's a bit more tricky to try various values on the board [old method of pull the cap, put the new value in]...dahh...pull one end, stick another caps lead where that end came out of...twist them together above board to create new parallel value...not recommendable but suggested.
Breadboard is suggested and recommendable..so many mods..so many gain stages, each with frequency and gain options...loosen 'this'?...early? or late?...etc. hard enough to figure, harder to type about 10 million options.
Just gettin' close I think would be the idea, then play with it, that's what the tone control is for.
If I was buildin' again it'd be a reduced mud mod, via smaller interstage cap.
