But don't use flux from the home renovation supply, your circuit will dissapear.  And if you drop the bottle, your table gonna disapear with it.  Use rosin RA flux (non-corrosive, non-conductive).

I've dropped my bottle once also and everything around me and myself also became a "post-it".  It's the same gummy stuff that gets in your clothes when you lay against a fir tree.

Buy some flux.  Dab a bit on all your joints before soldering then just go for it.  Magic stuff.
Absolutely.  Just don't knock the bottle over.  NOT so magical when it becomes part of your carpet/desk/clothing....or any related dialogue with your spouse :icon_wink:.
These help with that problem:

REALLY good To know.

Spouse:  mom and dad for the younger are in the same category.

Don't drop it on your "The art or electronic" book.  I tell you it's hell...

What I like to use for cleaning the board is a small piece of steel wool.  Brightens everything up and makes it all nice and shiny.  The only down side was that it filled up the holes with the steel wool dust, but I found a simple remedy for that was just to shoot it with some canned air with the nozzle attachment.  Works like a charm.

Harking back to the original post where the solder is not flowing on to the component leads, don't forget to clean the component leads as well as the PCB,  Green Scotch Brite works really well on leads.
