Accoring to the home-wrecker website [urlhttp://www.home-wrecker.com/phaserguide.html][/url]There are three known circuits and five known models.

The first two are JFET based models sound different than the last three LM13600N based models.
Some people report the JFET models sound superior.
The LM13600N reportedly has a warble problem at high sweep rates.
All the LM13600N units sound similar, although there is no confirmation the circuits are the same at this point.

Has anyone built or heard the 1st two models for their own personal comparison to the LM13600N units?
