Does anyone know of a good place in the uk that can fabricate enclosures for a reasonable price. I did find one site that looked promising untill i realised it would be about £80 for a single 200mm x 95mm enclosure.

what are you looking to get made a one off?

there is a metal place in my home town that makes stuff to order but the price yo quoted sounds about right for a one off fiddly custom job
easyface, phase 90,many fuzz faces, feedback looper, tremulus lune and so on soon to be ADA!

I suppose for this kind of price i'd be better of buying a sheet bender and learning to weld. I didn't have a finalised design in mind, but i'm really after a place that can offer custom work for future projects, but as i imagined, its most probably an impossibility.

snufkin

why not just go with hammond style ones ?

I wouldn't use hammond at all becasue they are really expensive, i'd use eddystone instead. But these come in a limited range of sizes, and only one style/shape.

Does mick do custom orders then? Also postage to the UK can be expensive, which is why i was specifically after something from the uk.

An alternative to paying big bucks is to find a sheet metalist who is a musician (shouldn't be too hard, right?), who'd want to collaborate with you. Get them to make two enclosures, one for you, and one for themselves, and do their electronics for them.

Thanks for the nod PT, I appreciate it!

Yes Eggman, I do custom work within certian parameters. Send me a PM with what you have in mind and I will see what can be done.

Thanks,

You can go to ceramic schools. They have nice ovens and they can easily mold and make aluminum boxes of any size. Ask students, they can do the job for a decent price.  ;)

or wait till Rapid does an end of list sale (they do quite often just sign up to the news letter) and get some cheap hammond knockoffs for super cheap  ;)
