Anyone interested in Wah shells/pedals in the uk/europe?

I got two last week. Nice enclosures - the wah sucks balls though. I think I will salvage the inductor + pot and build my own multi super duper mega wah in one of them and make a multi purpose CV/resistance expression pedal out of the other one. I never realised the mechanical travel was so small on these wahs.

I think you got lucky being the first person in, i've not sold 2 of them to anyone else, demands been so high, and the wah really does suck, really weak. I've not really tried them out for anything yet, due to other projects, the travel isn't too bad, but im trying to think of any ways to improve it, because i'll be using all mine for expression pedals etc. Probably even cutting some of the metal off the bottom of the top part, but thats easier said than done....

I was a bit suprised at the lack of travel as well, it's less than a really mince plastic wah I picked up from cash generator  for £10. I think I might buy a whipple inductor or two and buy a drop in modable wah PCB from GGG.

Yeah I was lucky - I would have had ten of them if you let me though. I really appreciate what you did here. Thanks.

I don't think there is a straightforward way to increase the mechanical travel, taking the rubber stoppers off and filing the pedal down is really the only way to go. However, then you would have to replace the rack as it is so god damned short. I think to get a good resistance change out of the mechanical travel you should just replace the pot with a larger value. That way you can get a full 0-whatever ohm resistance you would want out of the small travel. Still, no "%^&*ed" positions here, far too small a travel.

I emailed vox asking if they had any spare baseplates - they replied back saying they are no longer made!

Well i'm using one or two of them as expression controllers for delay time, and something i'm going to try with that is a tunable sweep expression, which i hope will let me use the expression pedal to slur the delay time more than the big spring from long to short that normally happens.
The travel on the ones i have left seems to vary, though thats on a quick inspections, its probably more of a mechanical thing.
Can you buy the racks individually? or is there something you can easily make your own out of, rather than just cutting your own out of plastic I mean.
Filing/cutting it down may not be too bad now that i look at it again, as you'd only really want to cut off an area at the back, for a steeper heel down position, marginally less work.

I just tested the pot allready in it with a meter, and got the full 0 to 110kohm with the travel, so thats good at least
